A very busy Thanksgiving

Well... we're finally back in Raleigh after 5 days of traveling to see all the family, a wedding, and a funeral. Whew! We're exhausted. This post won't be long but I definitely had a great holiday weekend. Just two more weeks of selectives (business = boring), then 4 weeks of vacation bliss :) We also got our Christmas tree up today... cut straight from the ground in the mountains of North Carolina and driven all the way back to Raleigh. I love being from that part of the state, and having this tree here helps make it feel more like home. Plus, the apartment smells all piney and delish. Anyway - I'll update more this week, maybe even with pics of the tree! XOXO

The Calm Before the Storm....

The weekend (or at least Saturday) was a fun distraction from the impending doom that is finals. Friday was supposed to be full of studying but I couldn't get motivated and barely got through everything I wanted to do. Saturday morning though we went to the game, tailgated and cooked out breakfast burritos and drank mimosa's, which was delicious. Then we actually won our game, which was surprising and awesome, considering it was Homecoming. Dinner was at The Old Bar with Matt and his dad, followed by an AMAZINGLY hilarious show by Ronnie Bullard at Charlie Goodnight's. Afterwards we went to a little bonfire action at Leah and Sam's with Paige and Jeremy, which was a good ol' time. Today has been full of studying medicine for me and Kristin, and football watching for Matt and Chad....

And now, a rhyme by Matt Fisher - "Saturday was a lot of fun, Sunday didn't get a lot done".

Matt cooked a delicately pan fried chicken tender with a white wine reduction and pepper sauce with leftover side dishes. Decadent. :)

Matt thinks he's getting sick, but I sure hope not b/c I can't even hang around here if he tries to have a hand in preventing me from finishing this semester from hell. Hopefully for both our sakes it will just be some sinus or allergy problems instead of anything contagious. I go for my bloodwork tomorrow to finally figure out if I'm actually hypothyroid or whatever, but at least I think we're catching it earlier than most people do.

2 tests this week, then finals until Thanksgiving. Pray for me. Also pray for Matt to keep doing an awesome job at work, and for our family members who need guidance and continued good health. Goodnight.

The first of many?

So.... I think I had a blog a long time ago, but it evaporated or something. I'm about to reach the end of my third year of vet school and start a very busy clinical year in May, plus Matt and I are going to be planning the wedding, so I think I want to start one up again. With all the stress and excitement that I'm sure is coming, Matt and I can keep people updated on things a little easier with the blog. I should be studying, so I guess I'll get to it. I have a feeling that me saying that will become a common theme :)
